I received my TV about 3 weeks ago. I wanted a little time to settle in with it before i wrote a review.
I've read just about every review out there for this specific TV on multiple websites before i purchased and can say i only agree with the positive one.
I chose Amazon b/c they were a couple hundred dollars cheaper and i have always had good luck. Pilot delivered the TV on time and in one piece.
I am moving up from a 32 in. Samsung LCD so i was a pretty big jump in quality. I mounted the TV with the Samsung slim mount that actually gave me the most problems.(mostly my mechanical errors though) The TV sits as flat as possible along the wall making it look like a painting.
Picture:
Just amazing!! I hear about the "soap opera effect" which did come into play. Some movies looked so real you could tell the sets were fake.(duh) But after a week i have gotten used to it and can't believe how great the picture is.(especially for sports) Blacks are such a deep black when i watch TV at night it almost feels like there is no border if it is in widescreen and cuts off some picture.
Sound:
I know a lot of people complained about the sound. I live in a loft with large ceilings and i was impressed. I actually sold my receiver and speakers because the sound was so good. I'm not saying it is perfect for every situation but as far as TV speakers go i love them.
Samsung Apps:
This is the only complaint i have. Some people may find these useful or fun but they are just boring. Youtube and Netflix are nice but i have them on everything else. My phone, xbox, laptop etc. There just isn't anything on there that makes it exciting at all. Kinda wish i would have purchased a model down to save some money but am very happy over all with my purchase!!
GREAT HD TV, GREAT PRICE. August 27, 2010 ELLIE I got the tv a couple of weeks ago and after doing alot research and trying to pick between samsung, sony or LG, i decided to go with the samsung since my previous tv set was samsung. I am glad I chose the samsung the tv is very slim, light and the picture quality amazing that's all I can say. my bluray dvds look amazing and when I play videos from my hard drive the picture is great, I have never seen such a beautiful picture quality, even when i watch regular programing from my cable tv it looks great. If you are thinking about purchasing a LED TV look no further is the one you want and for the price I got it is a Steal. I paid less than 1400 here in amazon. I highly recommend this TV set.

1) For the a price of $1389 along with Samsung HT-C5500 Blu-ray Home Theater System and Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick Wireless LAN Adapter, i felt its a good deal.
2) One major issue what i felt most inconvenient, is the remote. if remote would have got a touch screen it would have been better while using internet applications.
3) no screws were included for a wall mount fix. you have to buy them seperately.
look into the manual for the screw size.
4) The picture quality of was too good. i even read thru problems of led tv's, esp samsung in some of the forums. i could not able to find the same atleast in the tv what i bought. (its been only 3 days since i recd tv)
5) streaming of the netflix movies, youtube etc.... was good (on cable vision internet).
Overall i feel that its a very good deal what i got. and i give a 5 rating.

I don't know if I got a TV with a faulty panel or not but I was seeing issues with extreme ghosting and smearing on images. Which was especially prevalent when watching any animated series. I'm usually not a picky guy but my wife started noticing it on everything too and the more we noticed it the more annoying it was. I tried every setting on the TV to get it to go away to no avail. I contacted Samsung tech support which was okay I guess. They contract it out and the service center where I live was 60+ miles away. The tech came out a few days later and played with the settings and told me he noticed the issues to. Then he wanted me to take a blu-ray to our local electronics shop and ask them to put it on so I could see if all Samsung panels had the same problem. This is my second Samsung TV with an issue (out of 3 I have purchased) so suffice to say I'm simply returning it and am going to give Sony a chance. Also, none of the internet apps maintain your picture settings. I have to watch all my Netflix movies in their "dynamic" color mode. No more Samsung TVs for me...

What's good: an excellent picture (good blacks, vivid though slightly unnatural colors), classy looking thin panel
What's bad: very poor sound (single back-firing speaker, not even stereo sound),highly reflective screen (glare problem), ugly and obstructive 4-footed stand, poorly designed remote control, WiFi setup buggy.
Had this TV for about a month, have not yet calibrated it with a HDTV calibration DVD but was able to eyeball adjust the brightness, contrast, and color settings to get a very pleasing picture. But no amount of playing with the audio settings could I get a decent sound. Dialogs all sound tinny, the best I could do was to cut the "10K" equalization setting down to minimum to reduce the "tinny-ness" of spoken words at the expense of getting much high frequency with music. Neither could I get any stereo effect out of the TV and playing with the "balance" audio setting made no difference in the sound. The reason became clear when I opened the back plate of the TV. The sound comes from a single 3" back-firing speaker, driven by a single pair of wires from the audio board. The 3" speaker is pancake flat, giving the cone little extension for producing the lower frequency sounds. A single pair of wires can produce only one channel of sound and my guess it's a mono channel. I cannot understand why the specification claims "10 Watts x 2 audio power stereo broadcast reception" when there is only one speaker.
The obvious solution is to get a sound bar or a home theater audio system to handle the audio. The Samsung sound bar sounds like a good bet, but here's where Samsung fails to provide an aesthetically pleasing solution. If the TV is not wall-mounted, the 4-footed stand prevents the sound bar from sitting right below the TV bezel. As much as the ToC decor is meant to help with the spouse factor, the sound bar addition will send one once again to the dog house. Samsung, Wake Up!!! If you can't make the sound bar look good with the TV, then you can at least try to provide decent stereo sound.
A few other issues with this TV and probably all Samsung LCD TV's. The highly reflective display surface creates a very distracting reflection if there is a light source directly opposite the screen; this is especially a problem when the scene has low light intensity. This TV is in our bedroom and the nightstand lights have to be turned off in order to watch a movie at night.
The remote control leaves a lot to be desired. Not only can it not control a Samsung DVD player, the ergonomics is far shy of other brands. Just try using the navigational and enter keys by feel without looking and you will get an exercise in frustration. Those keys are not sculpted to gives you any feel for which key you are pushing, and unlike other keys, they are not backlit, so when you are navigating the Samsung apps at night, you may have to turn on a light that you just turned off to avoid the screen glare problem. Samsung could learn a great deal by studying a Toshiba TV remote.
One other problem I encountered was in setting up the WiFi connection. The same Samsung WiFi USB adapter on the Samsung Blu-ray DVD player connected to my wireless router without any problem. Yet the same adapter failed to connect to the router when it's moved over to the TV. This is all done with the Samsung WiFi adapter on a USB extension cable that allows the adapter to be placed in exactly the same spot regardless of which device it was wired to. It took some playing around, but it finally got down to the fact that my router has SSID broadcast disabled. The DVD player software has no trouble with not seeing a broadcasted SSID whereas the TV's software wouldn't initialize to it even when all the proper information was entered in the setup procedure. When I turned on SSID broadcast, the TV connected to the router right away and the signal strength was excellent. Once I had the TV connected to the router, I was able to disable SSID broadcast and the TV now connects to the router without a problem; so the bug seems to be only in the software for initial connection.
Given all the deficiencies with this TV, as much as I liked the picture quality, I would not recommend this TV, especially at the price that has to be paid. There are TV's with equally good picture quality, much better sound, less glare and better remote control ergonomics.
